THREE TYPES OF PEOPLE

  • People that inspire you

  • People that are sincerely happy about your achievements and successes

  • People that are appreciative

OUTSIDE OF YOUR THREE TYPES

However, these three types build a solid comfort zone that can eventually narrow down your mindset.

“Keep your friends close but your enemies closer” – this will never get old.

The three types are the ones that can build a solid close friend circle or network. They are your chosen family members (i.e. spouses) and your chosen friends. They can be your soulmates.

However, for your self-growth and development, you need people that challenge your mindset and beliefs with actions that might not be coming from good intentions.

At the end of the day, you won’t avoid people outside of those three types. The point is you should consider keeping them as close (sometimes) as your true three types. They expand your horizons and views. For instance, they might have a bigger knowledge base about something you need to master and/or acquire. Another example is you will know better how to negotiate with a manipulative person if you deal with one and observe their behaviour in a non-negotiation environment.

If you read “Have those keep me accountable friends”, you might notice that the three types will contain the type of personalities described there because they fulfill the function of bettering you when it is necessary. They act like anchors that get you back to the ground when your crazy mind is about to fly away. People that keep you accountable are normally the ones that are also happy about your achievements and successes. However, they need to be able to handle an open conversation with you if necessary.

The main task after reading this blog (and writing it!) is to clearly define what % of your network and acquaintances are a part of those three types.

The next step is to define borders that should clearly separate the outsiders from your close circle.

  • Be honest and transparent with your three types as well as with yourself when you’re talking to them. If you are lucky to be granted with people who are your soulmates and you can trust, value them and treat them accordingly.

  • Use an active observation with the people outside of your three types. Understand their personality types. Define what role they can play in your life to progress with a certain direction in mind.
