My Skin Choice

When it comes to beauty and skincare, I am taking my time to consider a brand to use.

I have never been that girl with glowing skin.

For example, if I eat too much gluten or diary food, here you go, I get new redness or pimples. During winter I get skin drying out that causes new redness again. When I do a photoshoot and a make up artist uses bad quality make up (therefore, I learnt to do my own make up and do not let other MUAs to do it for me), I pay it with irritated skin next morning. I took as a rule that I have to be cautious of what I use for my skincare.

When I was given a gift pack of Catherine Australia at one of my modelling events for Auto D’elegance, I hadn’t opened it for maybe a month or two. As said, I am very concern about adding any ‘external’ skincare to my range due to the reasons above.

I visited their store in Double Bay and I was also told there that I can use their hand care on my face. Well, this was concerning at a start. So, after a detailed research I decided to give a go.

Catherine is a very popular brand in Europe, Germany in particular (the country of origin of the brand). There are heaps of positive reviews from European customers. Moreover, Germany has one of the strictest health standards in the world. Assuming that a product has gone through such a ‘hassle’, you think they really put organic ingredients, they claim to have at the back of the pack and their combination works well for the benefit of your skin. Also, knowing the fact that Australia accepts new trends very slow and, therefore, the brand is not really known here yet.

I tried the product on my hands - I loved the feel. Then I tested, as suggested, on my face - my skin did perfectly accepted it.

In particular, the Jojoba balm that is meant to be my daily hand care item, turned to be my facial balm after washing off my make up every night.

Considering my skin is quite oily, the least thing you want to do is to place an oil based balm onto your facial skin and expect the magic…

I ended up using the Jojoba cream onto my skin. Winter was a great proof that the Catherine actually works - I was waiting to write this blog in winter to get additional proof of benefits of this brand, even though I saw the positive outcomes much earlier. My skin gets worsen and looks slightly damaged (hands and face) during winter especially after my long rides on my motorbike. Yes, I do wear protective gear such as helmet and gloves but when I commute from, say, Manly to Cronulla or further in one way and then at the end of the day return, it affects my skin next day.

Just hands up if you are a motorbike owner, you need Catherine :)

Then my next question is always HOW. I don’t like just to see WHAT GOOD when cannot answer HOW/WHY GOOD - this is my curious nature. The answer is:

Its composition of ingredients, which includes jojoba oil, shea butter, argan oil, and panthenol, will provide skin with the full spectrum of care. It also moisturises the skin and prevents moisture loss, relieves irritation, and promotes the healing of small cracks and cuts. Argan oil – AKA liquid Moroccan gold – contains various acids, vitamin E, and sterols, all vital for improving skin condition.

It is a review of ingredients of that butter (I call it balm due to its soft texture). In other words, they combine the ingredients that you are looking individually in other brands in a science smart way. For example, before I was using a good cream that has a few useful ingredients and it was organic skincare. It worked well on my skin, however, I still experienced some issues as it wasn’t a ‘full range of ingredients’ to address all the needs of your skin..if it makes sense.

The other bonus for me - due to my curiosity (again!), I want to know what the ingredients are. I want to answer on the question WHY I need to choose this product over others. I think being a professional marketer, I always expect other brands ‘pitch’ product and services to me and be best at it.

When I go to Catherine’s website (below), I can actually read a list of ingredients at the end of description of each product. Well, if you are not a scientist or pharmacist, it might not tell you much. However, if you really want to educate yourself (remember, this blog is all about mindset and self-development:) ), you can google all or some of the ingredients and figure out what they are for outside of the blend that Catherine offers. This research will give you a lot of YES thoughts for this product.

This is my review, this is my experience. I like to hang out on Eastern Suburbs often and come along to the Catherine store. Which means if you really want to test the product out, I can arrange to get you a few testers together with your very first Catherine product that will become your little good addiction.

Stay well,

Ange

P.S. in the next couple of weeks I will be looking at their Keratin treatment for my hands - stay tuned for more info on it.
