Bad Experience is Good for You

There will be a moment of doubt.

People are unique for their experiences. The more experiences you earn, the more interesting you are as a person.

Good experience just simply brings you happiness. Brings memories that you want to remember and capture in your mind for longer.

Good experiences are bright but do not live long - there is something broken in our human cognitive system - we’d better keep bad situations and events in our minds instead of good ones.

Bad experiences do not happen more often - we just tend to think about them more.

I saw how easily people got broken after a trauma but I also saw how bad some people felt without having any bad experience at all.

Any bad situation builds resilience. The only possible way to extract resilience is through an experience. You may read as much self-motivation, self-development and resilience books and articles. You may be told about it by someone - it is just a raw piece of knowledge. Your own experience is what makes it a final product.

We are all going through unpleasant life events. It is in our hands to make an experience out of it.

No one will do it for you - you’re on your own. If you think someone will, you are probably miserable and weak, sorry.

Getting your own sh*t sorted is a great journey. You will like it. I loved it, for instance. Still do.

One of the worst features of people is to complain that they have lesser opportunities than others.

Illusion. No one knows what experiences that guy with a great smile has had. No one knows what experiences that happy girl has gone through.

Opportunities can be seen and can be created. If you see an opportunity, just take it, it is the second question what to do with it when it is already in your hands. If there are no opportunities (which I doubt so - you might just be temporary blind), just create them from scratch. There is always a way to find one…or more.

If you do not want to find or create one, then you’d better shut up and stop complaining that life is unfair to you.

Yes, bad experiences will be always around. Yes, they will make you upset and might get your tears out.

However, every single one of us has gone, is going or will be going through a bad life event. When there is a wave of anxiety - just start scrolling good memories and experiences in your mind same way like you are scrolling your Instagram feed. Identify what makes you happy - it is a hobby of yours, a passion or dedication to something in your life. Hug your loved ones, your pets, someone who is warm and friendly - this helps.

When the anxiety wave is over, the next thing is an action. Do something to make something big out of your life. For example, do you love sport? Make changes in sport. And you don’t have to be famous. Say, if you are a sports coach, you create a live changing moment for a kid you train.

In other words, Act to fill your mindset with good experiences and keep them fresh for longer. Do not scroll your good experiences too quick out of your mind. Japanese people is an example to me. The way how they can embrace even a single smile into a life changing good experience. We can learn a lot from their oriental culture.

If you do not believe in yourself, no one will. Well, I might believe in you - only if you prove you want to take your life in your hands and get that priceless long-lasting smile on your face.

With love,

Ange
